I like to shop on line as it is easy and convenient. Plus there is always a size chart on the site that you could compare. Last week, I got a couple of sweaters on line from lands end, but they do not fit me very well, so I decided to return them, these will be the only items that I returned from my online shopping experience. One of my friends told me about a British web site that sells good jumpers and quality knitwear, from the website, I like the design of the jumpers; they look a little different than the US products. My friends told me that she has ordered from the site, the size is perfect since the European size has more in between the regular small, medium and large, she found her size which is 38. The quality is very good, plus most of them have washing instructions that she liked. She said that she was worried that she needs to wash most of them by hand, but from the instructions, most of them can be machine washed. There are lots of selections and different colors to pick on the site. Also, since Christmas is coming, there are quite a few deals, plus if we buy from the US, they would deduct a 17.5% tax on it, so not only we do not need to pay tax, but also we will get a deduction, what a nice thing! They do offer standard shipping to most of the US cities, the rate is very reasonable. So I am thinking to get a few sweaters for myself and for my relatives. I am sure they will like it since they are a little different, nobody could find the same thing in the US. They do have live support if you have questions, you could find a toll free number to call.

I worked at the Merchandise mart for a year, every day during the lunch hour while I was walking around in the mart, I am inspired with their beautiful kitchen design. There are lot of models, but I like one specifically, this one is all white color with silver handles. I told Eric that next time when we are able to buy a place again, I would like to have this kitchen. It is so interesting to look at Kitchen Pictures on different magazines, but I know that I am not the type of person knows how to design it. I really need some professionals to help me with different ideas, lights, new materials etc. My in-laws have just finished building their house, they spent 2 months to pick up matterials and color for their kitchen. My father in law is very hands on, he knows how to paint nicely, so he finished painting on the cabinets himself. When we went there to visit, I am so amazed of it as it does look very professional. I like it a lot and he told me that I can find some professional ideas on “ewkitchens”. They have licensed professionals who could help you to make your dreams becomes true.

It is critical that professionals purchase top quality merchandise that conforms to military and law enforcement specifications. Although you could get lots of the second hand clothes for a cheap price, but they are not the same as far as for quality, color and design. It’s better to buy military clothing at BDU.COM.

I took both of my daughters and my nanny to the museum of science and industry. While we are in line, I saw Carl at the reception desk. He was very happy and surprised to see me. He then has circled all the nice exhibits on the map for us. We went to the Idea factory, which is good for our kids, such as the air could blow away the balloon or suck the ball from a tube to another side of the play room. Elizabeth liked the net pass that she got in the computer lab, we went down to the coal mine and she is happy that her net pass lit so that she was not very scared.

While I was little, I liked to watch TVs about people surfing, they are so athletic, so beautiful and brave. But I have never tried surfing myself, I guess since I am older now, I am afraid of lots of things, plus I did not have the time and energy to play that sport anymore. Eric’s younger sister is a great surfer, she could be the one on the post card. I always curious about the appliances she has for surfing, there are so many of them, I do not even know their names. I was asking her the use and price of them. She told me that she got those on line with a good price, such as the Surfboards she had, it only cost her a couple of hundred dollars, but it is a very good one.

Successful hacks

None so far. Impress your friends, be a star -- be the first to make EWEPS go oops!

Update: The /var/log directory was found to be mysteriously missing on January 3, 2000 and certain services (like httpd!) would fail to start... Jon reformatted the hard drive and reinstalled Linux -- we have applied all the security updates this time.

Update 2: Puppy has been running solid like a rock since, well, that Blaster SQL worm or whatever its name was. We've done fairly well keeping ourselves updated though I will admit not having done much hardening. Heck for all I know I am already a "zombie" for spammers etc though I doubt it.

Interesting tidbits and news

My e-mail ISP, Voyager.net, did not renew the cnsnet.com domain (which I have used for e-mail the past several years) so I snuck in and bought it out from under them. Not sure how Network Solutions handles this or how Voyager.net will respond. I hope to see my name on the Whois information in the next day or so.. check it out here.

EWEPS Showcase

This will be a bunch of junk where I try out different web stuff. Too get started, here's a animated gif map showing my building.

     Statler

The first is the eggdrop bot which sits in #muppeteer on EFFNet. Statler will generate pages related to conversation that appears in the channel and also periodically create other pages like to look up the weather and check the MapInfo stock price, meaningless, idiotic stuff like that. Here's a Java IRC client so you can say hi to Statler yourself! [Ed. note: Statler's been let go due to lack of IP addresses.. he may find a home via a host under hrandassociates.com in the near future.]

     Current Weather

This jpg is generated on-the-fly by my home weather radar kit and mapping software. You may link to this image in your own home page with my permission.

Also, here's an experimental Java animated version. This will take some moments to load.

Humor

This might be a collection of e-mail forwards, mini-games and images, links to other sites, etc. of stuff that amuses me and might amuse (or offend) you. For starters, here's some stuff. Featured item is Stress Relief.

Life Tip

"There is no need to slump through life with a bad back. Massage chairs can give you daily relief in a way that no other piece of home furniture can. But a couple of minutes every day probably isn't enough if you aren't sleeping in a way that is conducive to caring for you spine. A foam mattress will conform to the shape of your particular body, and cradle you for a perfect night's rest."

This is the start of my portable 'Favorites' list.

About me

I am about 6'3" and like to swim. I might put a picture here, as well as a resume.

My e-mail address was on the top but since some people may feel dizzy without a blurb at the bottom for balance and to list a contact person here it is: e-mail.
